Rachel Dzengelewski

Rachel joined the OSS advancement team as Assistant Director in 2022. A New Bedford native, she earned her Bachelor’s in English from UMass Dartmouth before moving to Portland, Maine in 2004. A lover of fiction and writing, she later earned a Master’s in Creative Writing from Goddard College in 2009. She began teaching college writing and literature classes in 2010, and she completed her M.S.Ed. in School Leadership in 2017 at Saint Joseph's College. She returned to the  South Coast in 2017 with her husband and two daughters, and they have enjoyed exploring the outdoors and participating in the numerous family-friendly events in the Greater New Bedford area. Rachel has worked as an educator, academic advisor, education researcher, freelance writer and fundraising professional. She has witnessed firsthand the transformative power of education, and she is so grateful to be part of the OSS team and for the opportunity to give back to her community.
